Fiber patch cords and pigtails
LC and SC patch cords in OS2 single-mode and OM3 or OM4 multimode, simplex or duplex, in the length you need. Pigtails for splicing come the same way, with one end left bare.

Patch cord or pigtail?
A patch cord has a connector at both ends and links two ports, for example a switch and a patch panel. A pigtail has a connector at one end only. Its bare end is fusion-spliced to a fiber in a cable, usually inside an LIU, an ODF or an OTB, and the connector plugs into an adapter on the panel or box.
Pigtails that sit in a splice tray usually have a 0.9 mm tight buffer instead of a jacket, so they coil neatly in the tray. The panels they go into are on the LIU and FMS page.
How to order
- Choose the connector and polish for each end, to match the ports the cord plugs into.
- Choose the fiber: OS2 for single-mode links, OM3 or OM4 for multimode. The transceivers or the existing cabling decide this.
- Choose simplex or duplex, the length in metres and the jacket.
- Send the line with the quantity and delivery city on WhatsApp or through the quote form below. A photo of the port or of an old cord also works.
Common questions
What is the difference between LC and SC connectors?
LC is the small connector, with a 1.25 mm ferrule and a latch. It is used on SFP transceivers, duplex QSFP optics such as LR4, and high-density panels. SC is larger, with a 2.5 mm ferrule and a push-pull body, and is common on FTTH equipment, ODFs and older switches.
Can an APC connector be mated with a UPC connector?
No. APC end-faces are polished at 8° and UPC end-faces are not, so the fibers do not meet properly. The joint has high loss and the end-faces can be damaged. APC connectors are green and UPC connectors are blue, which makes the mistake easy to spot. More in UPC vs APC.
Should I order OS2, OM3 or OM4?
OS2 single-mode is for telecom, FTTH and long links. OM3 and OM4 multimode are for short links inside a building or data centre, matched to the multimode transceivers in use. OS2 vs OM3 vs OM4 compares them.
Can I order a non-standard length?
Yes. Choose Other in the builder and enter the length in metres.
What do the connector and jacket colours mean?
By the usual convention, single-mode jackets are yellow and OM3 and OM4 jackets are aqua. Connector bodies show the polish: blue for single-mode UPC, green for APC, and beige or aqua for multimode.
