How to order
- Choose UTP or shielded.
- Choose the colour. Using one colour per service, such as data, voice and uplinks, makes tracing easier in a crowded rack.
- Choose the length in metres and the jacket.

Common questions
UTP or shielded?
UTP suits most offices and racks. Shielded cords help near electrical noise, and they only work as intended when the jacks and patch panels are shielded too and the shield is earthed.
LSZH or PVC?
LSZH jackets give off little smoke and no halogen acid gases in a fire, so they are often specified indoors. PVC is the general-purpose choice.
How long can a CAT6 link be?
A full Ethernet channel can be up to 100 m, made of up to 90 m of fixed cable plus no more than 10 m of patch cords in total. For 10GBASE-T, CAT6 is rated to about 55 m.
